With the college soccer season set to kick off in the coming days, it's time to check in on the 2024 MLS SuperDraft picks made by the Philadelphia Union.
Stas Korzeniowski
Played a total of 63 minutes with Real Central New Jersey of USL 2, appearing in one game and starting that game. He now rejoins Penn for his final season with the Quakers. The forward was named a "Forward to Watch" by the United Soccer Coaches. Penn opens their season on September 1 against Pitt.
Zach Bohane
The junior was named a "Midfielder to Watch," and his Stanford squad was picked #5 in the ACC and in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches, as the majority of his teammates who pushed to an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal are returning. Additionally, the 5-11, 170 lb midfielder was named a Preseason All-ACC selection. Stanford opens their season against San Jose on Thursday, August 22.
Francesco Montali
He joined the Union immediately after the draft to participate in the Florida preseason. Later, Montali moved to USL 2 side Vermont Green, where he played in four matches, starting three of them, and accumulating 287 minutes. His performance earned him a professional contract with MLS Next Pro side Minnesota United 2 on July 2.
On July 7, Francesco signed a short-term agreement to be part of the MLS roster for their match between Minnesota and LA Galaxy.
To date, with Minnesota United II, he has played in three matches, conceding 11 goals.
